# When Everything Earthly Falls Away, Only the Soul Remains – Eternal and Free
## Why We Are Born, Why We Die
“Why are we born and why do we die?” is a question that Alen Marić, hypnotist and therapist, has asked himself countless times. In his book with the same title, he does not offer the reader ready-made answers, but instead awakens new questions. He invites us to become curious again like children, to feel the greatness of human life and the humility of the soul, which learns to love through lessons, challenges, and relationships.
He reminds us that success, wealth, and recognition are temporary, while only that which we carry in our hearts and imprint upon our soul remains. At the center of everything stands the family – as a refuge in times of pain and as the most precious school of unconditional love.
Every action, every word, and every thought creates an echo that returns to us. Therefore, choosing goodness is always a choice for our own growth.
When everything earthly falls away, only the soul remains – eternal, free, and once again at home in the light, where love is the only truth.
The soul consciously chooses incarnation because it wishes to raise its vibration, resolve karmic debts, and mature.
---
### Your book begins very directly – with the question of death. Why did you choose this topic?
Death is the greatest taboo of modern humanity and, at the same time, the greatest source of fear.
It seems to me that humanity has limited itself through words such as “dead,” “deceased,” or “he is no longer here,” creating an artificial boundary between life and eternity.
This fear is then often used to influence and control people. My wish was to place death into a broader context and present it as part of a process, not as an ending.
---
### In your book, you repeatedly emphasize that the fear of death is one of the key mechanisms of control over humanity. What do you mean by that?
Fear is a very powerful emotion. Whoever controls fear can influence people.
Political systems, religions, and even medicine often – consciously or unconsciously – operate on this level.
A person who fears death is easier to control, thinks less independently, and trusts themselves less.
But when someone understands that death is not the end, but a transition, this control begins to disappear.
---
### The book is not only theoretical but also very personal. In the introduction, you describe your life journey from childhood to hypnotherapy. Why did you decide to be so open?
Because without personal experience there is no truth.
I was born in Celje, lived a completely ordinary life, worked in a warehouse, and later in insurance.
I never planned to become a hypnotherapist.
However, my personal journey, doubts, searching, and curiosity led me to the insights that I share today.
The reader needs to know that I am not writing from theory, but from experience and practice.
---
### A large part of the book is based on your work with hypnosis and regressions into past lives. Skeptics would say that this is imagination. How do you respond?
Skepticism is healthy and necessary.
I do not try to convince anyone that they must believe me.
However, I share what I have seen and experienced through more than two thousand therapy sessions.
People come with concrete problems – illnesses, fears, and repeating life patterns – and after understanding the origin of these difficulties, their lives begin to change.
The results speak for themselves.
---
### The central concepts of your book are incarnation, lessons, and karmic debts. How would you explain them simply to a reader?
Incarnation is the conscious choice of the soul to enter a physical body with a specific purpose.
Lessons are not punishments, but gifts and opportunities for growth.
Karmic debt means that the soul must experience the other side of actions it has once caused.
It is not about revenge, but about understanding and balance.
---
### In the book, you describe very concrete and painful examples from your practice. Why did you choose such a direct approach?
Because life is not sterile, and spirituality is not a fairy tale.
We are talking about betrayal, violence, loss, the death of children, and suicide.
These are real human experiences.
If we want to understand the essence of the soul, we must also look into the darker corners of human existence.
It is precisely there that the greatest shifts in consciousness occur.
### Love is especially strongly emphasized in your book. Why is love, in your opinion, the true purpose of incarnation?
Because when we die, nothing else matters.
Not money, not houses, not status.
The soul does not ask where its car is, but where its love is.
Many wandering souls remain connected to Earth precisely because of unfinished relationships.
Love is the only energy that transcends time, space, and death.
---
### In one of your examples, you describe a karmic encounter that happens abroad. How important are such “coincidental” moments in your opinion?
There are no coincidences.
Every meeting is agreed upon on the soul level – where, when, and with whom.
Even the meeting in Lisbon, which I describe in the book, was not accidental.
Souls recognize each other through the eyes. Everything else is only the stage on which the story unfolds.
---
### The book gives the impression that everything is predetermined. Do we then still have free will?
Yes, we do.
The path is prepared, but the choices and decisions are in our hands.
Lessons guide us back to the right path, but we always have the choice whether we will understand them or ignore them.
That is where the responsibility of human life lies.
---
### What do you most want the reader to take away from your book?
Relief.
Less fear.
More understanding of themselves and others.
If the reader stops for even a moment, begins to think differently, and feels that everything ultimately has meaning, then the purpose of the book has been fulfilled.
---
### In the fifth chapter, you describe the light as our true home. How would you describe it to someone who cannot imagine it?
The light is not a place in the physical sense.
It is a state of consciousness and existence.
There is no fear, no separation, and no rules in the human sense of the word.
There is unconditional divine love, peace, and a feeling of belonging.
There we are what we truly are: energetic beings with the same origin.
Earth is not a punishment, but a school.
---
### If the light is so beautiful, why do souls choose incarnation on Earth at all?
Because Earth is one of the best places for the growth of the soul.
Here we experience emotions, choices, pain, love, and responsibility.
In the light, respecting the laws of existence is natural. On Earth, however, we learn through experience.
The soul consciously chooses incarnation because it wants to raise its vibration, resolve karmic debts, and mature.
---
### You reveal a very provocative statement that the soul has a limited number of incarnations. Why is this information so important?
Because it changes everything.
If a person believes they have unlimited attempts, there is no true sense of responsibility.
But if they know that they have a limited number of incarnations – on average no more than five – life suddenly no longer seems meaningless.
Every decision matters.
Learning becomes a necessity, not just an option.
---
### What happens to souls that, after several incarnations, no longer wish to return to Earth?
They have a choice.
They can remain in the light and enjoy peace within their soul group.
But they can also take on tasks: becoming guide souls, healers, energy cleansers, teachers, or wise souls.
Every soul has its own purpose. No soul is unnecessary.
---
### You dedicate a special place in your book to soul guides. How would you describe their relationship with humans?
Our guides never leave us.
Even when we think we are alone, they are beside us.
However, we often move away from them – not the other way around.
When we are in a low vibration, in sadness, anger, or fear, we perceive them less clearly.
But when we become calm, we begin to recognize signs: thoughts, feelings, and synchronicities.
---
### You speak a lot about signs such as coins, feathers, clocks, and electronic devices. Why these particular signs?
Because they are subtle and personal.
The guides know what we will recognize.
They do not shout; they whisper.
When a person begins to trust these signs, their awareness becomes sharper and they begin to understand the messages.
Then a connection is created.
Not through belief alone, but through experience.
### In one chapter, you describe very personal experiences with your deceased grandmother. Why did you include them?
Because theory without personal experience means nothing.
When a person experiences for themselves that the deceased have not disappeared, but remain present in another form, the fear of death begins to dissolve.
These are not coincidences.
They are connections meant to bring comfort and remind us that we are not alone.
---
### Let us move to hypnosis. Many people are afraid of it. What is, in your opinion, the greatest myth about hypnosis?
That a person loses control.
In reality, a person has more control than ever before.
During hypnosis, the individual is aware, conscious, hears everything, and can decide at any moment to end the state.
Hypnosis is not manipulation, but cooperation.
---
### Why do you say that the brain “loves” hypnosis?
Because it can finally rest.
In everyday life, we have tens of thousands of thoughts every day.
During hypnosis, the mind becomes calm, the body regenerates, and circulation improves.
The brain remembers this state and with each repeated experience reaches it more quickly.
---
### You are very critical of superficial and inauthentic regressions. Why?
Because a lie does not heal.
If a person sees only what they want to see instead of the truth, they only temporarily calm their conscious mind.
But the subconscious knows the truth.
And when it recognizes that we are trying to deceive it, it brings the problem back – often in a stronger form.
---
### You emphasize that ninety-five percent of our lives are guided by the subconscious mind. What does this mean in practice?
It means that most of our decisions are made automatically, based on patterns, beliefs, and emotions.
If we want a real change, we must go to the cause and not only treat the consequence.
We must reach the first event where the information was stored in the subconscious mind.
Even if it originates from a previous life.
---
### Why do you not perform regressions during the first visit?
Because a regression must be genuine.
The brain must learn to enter the hypnotic state, the ego must become calmer, and emotions must become stabilized.
Only then can a person see the truth – not wishes, fears, or projections.
---
### Does the truth always bring relief, even when it is difficult?
Yes.
The truth sets us free.
It may not bring immediate happiness, but it brings understanding.
When a person understands why something is happening to them, they stop running away, stop asking “Why me?” and begin to accept.
Acceptance is the beginning of healing.
---
### What is, in your opinion, the biggest mistake of modern people when seeking help?
That they solve consequences instead of causes.
Medication, quick solutions, and temporary fixes.
But as long as the subconscious carries the original information, the story will repeat itself.
When we remove the power from the cause, everything changes.
---
### What would you like the reader to understand after these chapters?
That they are not broken, punished, or abandoned.
That they have their own story – a spiritual, karmic, and human story.
And that they always have a choice: to remain in fear or to step onto the path of understanding.
We are never alone.
Never.
---
### In your book, you write a lot about hypnosis, regression, and “life between lives.” What does this concept actually mean?
When I speak about life between lives, I mean the state in which the soul exists between two incarnations.
This is not an abstract idea, but a very concrete experience that individuals can reach through deep hypnosis or regression.
There is no human language there, no ego, and no rational mind.
Communication takes place on the level of energy and the soul.
It is precisely in this space that people often receive answers to questions they cannot resolve in everyday life.
---
### In one of your examples, you describe contact with a soul guide. How does such an experience happen?
If hypnosis is performed correctly and safely, a person can establish contact with their soul guide.
This connection is not imaginary, but deeply felt and experienced.
People describe feelings of safety, peace, and relief – often with tears and laughter at the same time.
A guide does not give orders, but guidance.
It shows why we are here, what our lessons are, and where our path leads.
### Skeptics would say that regression into past lives is just imagination. How do you respond to such doubts?
Very simply: imagination does not heal.
When a person becomes aware of the cause of a problem and that problem then begins to dissolve – when pain disappears, relationships improve, and inner unrest fades – we are no longer speaking only about fantasy.
We are speaking about inner truth.
In addition, during regressions, information often appears that a person consciously could not have known, and which later proves to be accurate.
---
### In your book, you also describe different possibilities of what happens to the soul after death. What are these possibilities?
According to my experiences, there are three main possibilities.
The first is that the soul goes into the light.
The second is that it wanders – usually because of a sudden or traumatic death, when it was unable to say goodbye.
The third possibility is that the soul goes into darkness, which is connected with conscious harmful actions during life.
These things are not punishment, but a consequence of the choices and the vibration that the soul carries.
---
### You dedicate a large part of the book to mediumship. How do you understand the concept of a medium?
A medium is not someone who simply decides to become one.
A medium is born with this ability.
It is a soul mission that was chosen before incarnation.
A medium is a bridge, a channel between worlds.
Its purpose is to help the living and the deceased, ease suffering, bring messages, and help souls find their way into the light.
---
### You describe two types of mediums: those who work on the level of consciousness and those who work on the level of higher consciousness. What is the difference?
A medium working on the level of consciousness is present, awake, speaking, and at the same time receiving messages.
A medium working on the level of higher consciousness actually leaves the body, and their soul enables direct communication between souls through their body.
This is an extremely rare and very demanding mission.
Such a medium allows direct communication of souls through their own body.
This is not something to pursue out of curiosity.
It is difficult, exhausting, and often challenging work.
---
### In your book, you also discuss dark forces and black magic. Why did you decide to include this topic?
Because these things exist.
If we speak only about the light, we speak about only half of the truth.
A person must understand that every action carries consequences.
People who consciously harm others create karmic debts that the soul must sooner or later balance.
The universe has its own order and balance.
---
### In one chapter, you present six fundamental human needs. Why are these so important?
Because through the way we satisfy our needs, we create our karma.
Every need can be fulfilled in a positive or negative way.
The difference between these two paths is the difference between growth and suffering.
Many people do not realize that through their actions every day they create new lessons – or resolve old ones.
---
### You also speak about five incarnations. What happens if the soul does not learn its lessons during these lives?
The soul remains, but it does not progress vibrationally.
It cannot take on higher tasks such as becoming a guide or teacher.
It can exist in the light, but without an active role.
Every soul wishes to progress, but it also has free will.
If it does not use that free will, it carries the consequences itself.
---
### In your opinion, how should a person live in order to raise their consciousness?
Through simple things:
Truth, responsibility, compassion, and respect for others and for oneself.
With the awareness that we are not here by accident.
When a person begins to live consciously, life itself begins to fall into the right place.
---
### What would you like readers to take away from your book?
That they understand they are not victims of life.
That they carry the answers within themselves.
And that the truth – whatever it may be – is the only path to freedom.

# Why We Are Born and Why We Die
In the book **“Why We Are Born and Why We Die”**, Alen Marić, hypnotherapist, psychic, and medium, raises profound questions:
How were we able to be born at all and incarnate as souls into our present body?
Why do we live and breathe?
What is the essence of human birth?
Why are we on the planet Earth?
Is birth therefore a matter of destiny?
Why is a person born if they eventually die?
Too much ego harms a person’s ability to understand and reflect.
The ego separates us from the true essence, while the universal energy of the universe and unconditional love represent the deepest truths.
When reading this book, expect beautiful moments, adventure, discovery, emotions, tears, and a journey toward understanding yourself and your existence.
Be open, honest, thoughtful, creative, and free.
In the end, you will realize that everything is exactly as it should be and that, ultimately, everything is good.
