Quitting Smoking with Hypnosis

Many people ask me whether it is possible to quit smoking with the help of hypnosis.
Of course it is possible – with the help of hypnosis, but not without a personal decision.

If a doctor tells you to stop smoking, if it is only a wish, if your partner sends you to therapy, or if smoking is simply starting to annoy you – none of these reasons are the same as making your own personal decision to quit smoking permanently.

I always ask my clients whether this is truly their personal decision or whether there is another reason behind it. When the answer is that they are not yet completely determined, I simply tell them to come back when they are truly ready and fully committed.

Hypnosis can help and can be very successful for permanent smoking cessation, but only when a person helps themselves and actively contributes through their own decision.

Personally, I also do not encourage clients to return repeatedly for smoking cessation sessions, because this would create a sense of comfort or an excuse that they can always call again because they want to quit smoking one more time. When this happens, it usually means that the original decision was not strong enough.

People often connect cigarettes with everyday activities and emotions. When we are at a party, at work, after work, while playing, watching television, at weddings, memorial services, funerals, birthdays, or sporting events – when we are sad, angry, aggressive, in love, or joyful – many people automatically connect these moments with smoking and cigarettes.

With a personal decision and with our support, through the help of hypnosis, smoking can be permanently eliminated.

That is why individual therapy is often much more effective than group sessions, because the therapist can dedicate 100% of their attention to the client, their lifestyle, and their way of thinking.

I do not judge smokers. It is simply the free will and personal choice of every individual. Everyone has their own life, their own lifestyle, and their own decisions – and that is how it should be.
